Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Moonlit Grove (“Moonlit Grove”, “we”, “us”) is the tarot reading service at tarotreadings.online. It is operated by BBN Labs Inc., a Canadian federal corporation. You can reach us at hello@tarotreadings.online.

These terms are an agreement between you and us. By using Moonlit Grove you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service. Our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy form part of these terms.

2. You must be 18 or older

Moonlit Grove is made for adults. You may use it only if you are at least 18 years old. By using it, you confirm that you are. If we learn that someone under 18 is using the service, we will close the account and delete its data.

3. What a reading is, and what it isn’t

Our readings are for entertainment and self-reflection. Each one is written by our reading engine from a hand-written library of card texts, combined with the cards you chose and details you have shared with us (such as your birthday and the cards you have drawn before). You can read more in How readings work.

A reading is not a prediction and does not guarantee any outcome. It is not medical, psychological, legal, financial, tax or any other professional advice, and it is not a substitute for it. Please don’t make decisions about your health, safety, money or legal matters based on a reading. Speak to a qualified professional instead. You remain responsible for your own choices.

If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, please contact a crisis line or emergency services straight away. Our support page lists free, confidential lines in many countries.

4. Your account

You can use Moonlit Grove without signing up. When you first visit, we create a guest account that lives in your browser on that device. If you clear your browser data, switch browsers or lose your device, a guest account and everything in it (readings, journal, streak and Stardust) may be lost, and we may not be able to recover it.

You can save your account at any time by signing in with your email (we send you a one-time code) or another sign-in option we offer. Your guest readings, streak and Stardust move into your saved account. You need a saved account to make a purchase, so that what you buy is never tied to a single device.

Please keep access to your email secure, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You can download your data or delete your account at any time from your profile.

5. Stardust

Stardust is our in-app currency. You can use it to open spreads and readings in Moonlit Grove. It is sold in these packs (prices in US dollars; checkout shows your local currency):

• Pouch of Stardust: 30 Stardust for $2.99
• Jar of Stardust: 90 Stardust (including 10 bonus) for $6.99
• Chest of Stardust: 240 Stardust (including 40 bonus) for $14.99

Stardust:

• is a licence to use features of Moonlit Grove, not money or property, and has no cash value;
• can’t be exchanged for cash, sold, or transferred to another person or account;
• does not expire while your account exists;
• is used up when you open a spread or reading, and isn’t returned once the reading is shown.

We may also give Stardust for free, for example as a welcome or referral reward. Free Stardust works the same way, except that it can’t be refunded. If a pack is refunded, we remove the Stardust that came with it (as much as is still in your account). Deleting your account deletes any Stardust in it.

6. The Oracle Pass

The Oracle Pass is a subscription that opens every spread, every day, without spending Stardust. It costs $7.99 a month or $39.99 a year (US dollar prices; checkout shows your local currency and any tax before you pay).

• Automatic renewal. Your Pass renews automatically at the end of each month or year, at the price you agreed to, and is charged to the payment method you used, until you cancel.
• Free trial. The yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial. If you don’t cancel before the trial ends, your first yearly payment is taken when it ends. The monthly plan has no trial.
• Reminders. We email you before your free trial ends (between 2 and 10 days before) and before each yearly renewal (between 30 and 60 days before), with the date and the amount.
• Cancel any time, in one tap. Go to your profile and tap Cancel. No forms, no chat, no questions. You keep the Pass until the end of the period you have paid for (or the end of your trial), and you won’t be charged again. You can also email us to cancel.
• Price changes. If we change the price of the Pass, we’ll tell you at least 30 days before it affects you, and you can cancel before then.
• Fair use. The Pass includes up to 30 spreads a day, which is far more than anyone needs for reflection. The limit is there to stop automated misuse.

7. Refunds

In short: unused Stardust can be refunded within 14 days of purchase, and any Oracle Pass charge can be refunded on request within 14 days. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you also have a legal right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days, explained in our Refund Policy, which sets out the details and how to ask.

8. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Depending on where you are, Stripe may act as the seller of record for your purchase through Stripe Managed Payments. In that case checkout will say so, Stripe’s own customer terms also apply to the payment, and Stripe handles sales tax or VAT. Either way, we look after your account and support, so please write to us first.

Prices are shown as all-in prices. Where tax is added on top, it is shown clearly before you pay. Before launch, the shop may run in a clearly labelled test mode in which no money is taken.

9. Inviting friends

You can invite friends to Moonlit Grove with your personal link. Rewards are paid in Stardust:

• Your friend receives 10 Stardust when they draw their first daily card.
• You receive 10 Stardust once your friend has drawn cards on 3 different days.
• You receive a further 20 Stardust after your friend’s first purchase (once per friend).
• You can earn rewards for up to 10 new friends each calendar month.

Please share your link only with people you know, using your own messages, apps or share sheet. We never send invitations on your behalf, and you must not spam, post your link where it isn’t welcome, or offer anything in return for sign-ups. Inviting yourself, using several accounts or devices to earn rewards, or any other trick to collect rewards that weren’t earned is not allowed. Invitations from the same device as your own don’t earn rewards. If we find abuse, we may remove rewards that were earned that way (including Stardust already spent), and we may end your access to the referral program.

We may change or end the referral program in the future. Rewards you have already earned will stay yours.

10. Acceptable use

Please use Moonlit Grove kindly and as intended. You agree not to:

• break the law, or use the service to harass, threaten, deceive or harm anyone;
• copy, scrape or harvest our card art, card texts or readings in bulk, or use automated tools to access the service;
• try to get around payment, limits, or security, or interfere with how the service runs;
• reverse engineer the service, except where the law allows it;
• resell readings or Stardust, or present our readings as your own professional service;
• put links, abuse or personal information about others into notes you attach to cards you send friends.

If you break these terms, we may suspend or close your account. Where it is fair to do so, we’ll tell you why first and give you a chance to put things right.

11. Our art and words

The Moonlit Grove deck (all 78 cards and the card back), our card texts, readings, designs, name and logo belong to us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. We give you a personal, non-commercial licence to use them within Moonlit Grove and to share your own readings and share cards with friends and on social media. Anything beyond that needs our written permission.

Your journal entries are yours. You give us permission to store and display them to you only so we can run the service.

12. Changes to the service

We are always improving Moonlit Grove, so features may change. If we ever close the service, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice, a way to download your data, and a refund for any unused paid Stardust and any unused part of an Oracle Pass.

13. Liability

We work hard to keep Moonlit Grove running well, but we provide it “as is” and can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for decisions you make based on a reading, or for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer protection laws where you live, which may not allow some of these limits. Where those laws give you more protection, they apply.

14. Ending your use

You can stop using Moonlit Grove and delete your account at any time from your profile. If you have an Oracle Pass, please cancel it in your profile before you delete your account, so that no further payments are taken.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute may be brought in the courts of Ontario. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the place you live and may bring a claim in your local courts.

Before going to court, please write to us. Most problems can be sorted out quickly by email.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We’ll change the date at the top and, if the changes are important, tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you don’t agree with the new terms, you can stop using Moonlit Grove and cancel any subscription before they apply.
